These garments were made as part of a small collection made entirely from hand woven and spun Silk/Cotton Khadi. Khadi is a traditional plain weave fabric from india with its roots in Indian self reliance and independence activism. I sourced this khadi from WomenWeave; an organization which has supported the role of women in handloom weaving since its inception. working toward making handloom a profitable, fulfilling, sustainable and dignified income-earning activity particularly for women in rural areas of India.
These Garments were made for women who want to feel uniquely beautiful while centering her need for environmental restoration and fair trade for artisan weavers.
